A collaborative work by Inken Reinert and David Star, Euchloe Ausonides Insulanus (A Butterfly Becomes Weather), brings together conceptual art, material science, and contemporary sculpture. Each work begins as an original lead pour before being translated into a permanent monument through digital modelling and precision fabrication. Rather than reproducing an existing sculpture, every commission originates from a unique physical event. The resulting form is enlarged while preserving the accidental complexity of the original pour, ensuring that each work remains a singular collaboration between natural forces, artist and fabricator.
