PROVENANCE & AUTHENTICATION
All editioned works are supplied with a rear-mounted provenance label. This label records key details of the work, including title, date, production method, edition number, and print history. It also includes a QR code linking to a permanent online record maintained by the artist.
The provenance record is intended to:
• Verify authenticity
• Maintain a consistent history of the work
• Support resale royalty (Droit de Suite) reporting where applicable
The label forms part of the artwork’s documentation and should not be removed.
ARTIST RESALE RIGHTS
Certain original artworks sold through Sexpionage may be subject to Artist Resale Royalty rights (also known as Droit de Suite). This means that, in jurisdictions where such laws apply, the artist may be entitled to receive a percentage of the sale price when the work is resold.
In Australia, this right is governed by the Resale Royalty Right for Visual Artists Act 2009 (Australia), which provides eligible artists or their heirs with a 5% royalty on the commercial resale of original artworks valued at $1,000 or more.
Responsibility for reporting and payment of any resale royalty typically rests with the seller and/or the relevant art market intermediary, not the original purchaser.
