Everybody is an ongoing participatory public artwork that began in Sydney in 2001. Together, these individual portraits become a collective self-portrait of a community at a particular moment in time. Rather than photographing people as subjects, Everybody invites them to decide how they wish to be seen. Every participant chooses their own pose, expression, and presentation, creating a photographic archive built through collaboration rather than observation. The complete artwork is produced as a limited-edition museum-scale photographic print. Individual participant portraits are available—exclusively to the participant—as a separate edition. Everybody continues as an open-ended series, with future editions planned in cities around the world.
