James Thornton from Catchwreck Printmakers, 2026.
Love Seats is a playful, graphic study designed to eroticise and anthropomorphise chairs. The work explores form and intimacy through a series of isometric architectural views, turning functional, rigid objects into strange diagrams of human connection.
Screen-printed by Catch Wreck Printmakers on premium Stephen paper, this large A1 screen-print brings sharp, vibrant precision to the minimal structures.
The project was originally self-published in 2002 as a limited artist’s book (in an edition of 50). This 2026 print edition scales the entire structural timeline onto a single composition—archiving all 23 structural configurations together in one definitive visual grid and adding an additional Love Seat for harmony.
